In recent years has increased the availability of data in form of images in the medical field. While only twenty years ago the medical images were reduced to two-dimensional X-ray plates, currently they are available three-dimensional images of various types, such as computerized tomography imaging (CT), Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (NMR) , PET and SPECT. As a result, there is the problem of storing and accessing data in a systematic way. Moreover, these methods of management of radiological data should be adapted to the storage media available, depending, mainly, on their access speed and performance.
